Place of Work

Popularly known as Brass city, holds a major share in Handicrafts manufacturing. Majority of artisans are involved in exports, though domestic market is also fed from Moradabad. We have set up a Artisans skill up gradation centre in Moradabad with the help of Govt. of India. In this training centre we give artisans training on latest technologies available in handicrafts industry. We organize seminars and workshops to sensitize artisans for importance of trainings. We also develop entrepreneurs. We have a placement cell for the placement of fresh and trained artisans. We have received a overwhelming response both from Industry and community.

Location of Training Centre:

Our Training centre is located at Chandausi Road, Moradabad by the name of “Moradabad Handicrafts Artisans Training Centre” We have approximately 10 trainers. Since last three years we have trained near about 1200 students at MHATC.

Popularly known as Carpet City. Bhadohi is famous for its Hand Knotted and Hand Tufted carpets. Artisans in this sector are untrained and working on decades old technique as a result manufacturing costs of carpets have shot up many folds which led to less work and hence unemployment. We have set up Skill Up gradation Centre in Bhadohi and Mirzapur. We designed a 260 hrs training module. Here also we had to organize large number of people connecting to programme to boost up Artisans and to fill confidence in them towards their art and the industry.

We received a very good response from community and exporters, associations and they supported us for the same. We were able to train approx 3000 trainees in 2012-2013. After our training programme we found that the quality and productivity of trained were better than the untrained workers. Industry welcomed trained artisans and production increased, which resulted into more wages. Now we are focusing on other areas such marketing and promotions to generate more work for the industry and we are hopeful that it will yield positive results.

Our training centers are located in Bhadohi and Mirzapur. We have 15 training centers at Bhadohi and weaving centers at Mirzapur. Since last three years we have trained approximately 3500 weavers.

Our aim is to work for the maintaining and enhancement of Glory of our Handicrafts industry
